FootGolf - FootGolf Courses in Wichita

L.W. Clapp is the first Wichita Public Golf Course to offer FootGolf.

FootGolf - a combination of soccer and golf - is growing fast. The number of specialized FootGolf courses in the US has surged from about 30 in 2013 to almost 300 in 2014. FootGolf is a precision sport where players kick a soccer ball into a cup - in as few shots as possible. The same rules used in golf are also used in FootGolf. This is fun for everyone, especially families looking for an inexpensive activity for everyone to play!

Basic Rules

  1. Soccer cleats are not permitted.
  2. Record scores for the hole on your next tee box to allow those behind you to begin playing their next shot.
  3. Kick off your ball from a position up to two yards behind the designated tee markers when beginning the hole
  4. The ball must be played in a single movement. You are not allowed to push the ball with the top or bottom of your foot. Your foot should be separate from the ball, clearly behind, before each kick.
  5. Play the ball from where it lies: you are not allowed to move the ball. Exceptions: If it comes to rest on a regular golf green, or if the ball may obstruct another player's ball or kick in any way.
  6. The player farthest from the hole is the first to kick the ball.
  7. Out of bounds markers are annotated with white stakes and roads. Place the ball within 2 steps from where the ball crossed the out of bounds line, and add a 1 stroke penalty.
  8. If the ball comes to rest in a water hazard, retrieve or replace it within 2 steps from the closest land point from where the ball entered the hazard, or play from the previous position. Both options result in a one stroke penalty.

Local Rules for L.W. Clapp

  1. Do not play any shots from golf greens. If your ball comes to rest on a green, find the nearest point of relief off of the green, no closer to the hole with no penalty.
  2. Pace of play for 9 holes of regular golf is 1 hour and 90 minutes. This time is the same for 18 holes of FootGolf. Please make sure to keep up with the group in front of you.
  3. Coolers/ice chests and outside beverages are not permitted.
  4. Please remember you are sharing the course with other golfers and FootGolfers. Be courteous.
